Going for it...

At what point in our lives do we realize that we may not be doing what were supposed to be doing with our lives? Do reoccurring situations need to happen? Do we need to hit rock bottom? I'm not speaking to the doctors and lawyers or the single woman with no children that has great credit and a plethora of money in the bank. I'm speaking to the woman like myself who may have started a family at a young age, hasn't finished college 10 years later and is stuck in a job that pays enough to get her by but leaves no room for growth.

I'm approaching 30, my husband and I are expecting our 3rd child, were preparing to purchase our first home and I am beginning to have the oh shit moments more frequently. Life is full of lessons, of course there are things in our past that we would like to do differently. But let's face it. Life don't work like that. Effing it up takes a moment, fixing it can take a lifetime.

Shiiiiitttttt......

I've always been the dreamer... There are so many things I'm good at but how do I decide what to go for? I love to lose myself in my writing... Can I be an author? (Started writing a book awhile ago, transitioned in my life, the books storyline was no longer appealing to me, sigh). Should I be a script writer and develop my own show?I lovvveeee styling and decorating, I walk into restaurants and immediately take in the atmosphere, the wall paper, the lighting, the seating, the art. What about decorTing professionally but focusing on restaurants and lounges? I've always wanted to own my own lounge... I to this day incision how it will look.  And chilllllddd I can plan and decorate the hell out of your party! Party planning... Maybe?!

I'm not talking to myself right... Someone out there is with me on this...

How do you go for it?

Ambrie and The City

I love the world wide web! This morning I woke up at the crack of dawn.. not by choice of freaking course (3 boys) and attempted to clean up but that was an epic fail… so I crawled back in the bed with my cup of tea and began researching party ideas for my birthday!

Every year I end up going out, spending a ridiculous amount of money and not having the memorable birthday that I thought I was going to have.  Not this year… This year I’m partying in the house… But just because it’s a house party doesn’t mean it can’t be FABULOUS!

I managed to pick a theme, order my invitations, lock in the “activities” you’ll get the “T” on that in another post and select decorations and appetizers from the comfort of my bed.  Not a bad start of the day at all.. Hopefully when the boys lay it down I can tackle this hurricane of a house…

Until then… How cute are these invites!?

Dining Room Chairs

Such a boring post title... I know...

I purchased a dining room table about two months ago from my favorite thrift store and since then it's been painted or course and very very lonely. My first thought was to purchase four ghost chairs on Overstock.com, but let's face it...im one cheap bitch! And y'all know I'm not working sooooo I don't have it like that. So the next option was to purchase chairs from the thrift store and we know how hard that can be... But somehow I was able to purchase five chairs that I've been wanting do a while and a coffee table that I will share later for 44 dollars!!! On a percent day Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... I can't wait to reupholster these loves! Take a look

Fancy Lucy

For Christmas, my hunnie bought me the White Iphone 4! I’m in LOVE so naturally, I needed a FABULOUS case to go with it!!! I’ve been IN LOVE with the chunky cases for quite some time and as most of you know they can be VERY expensive. Well, now I’m in the market for an IPAD… so you dolls know where I ventured to find one. Thant’s RIGHT! EBAY. HELLO!

I love this Ipad Case! But this post is NOT about Ipad Cases!

I did a search for “bling ipad cases” and up popped the blinged out Iphone cases… I began to click on the cases that I liked and noticed that they were all listed by the same seller. So I browsed the ENTIRE store… Not only were cases FABULOUS! But they were also super AFFORDABLE and I mean anywhere from 25-45 dollars!!!!

For those of you who are interested in purchasing the cases that are shown in my Favorites below, you can do so by visiting here.

Seeing Stripes

Hello dolls! I'm hoping that everyone had a safe and fabulous New Year! While most people relaxed I spent the first day of 2012 applying the wallpaper that my mom gave me for Christmas to an area wall in my master bedroom. FABULOUS. I usually lean towards a more eclectic feel when it comes to the decor in my home when she told me she purchased the 10 rolls of wallpaper from the Salvation Army I had no clue of what to do what I'd use it for but knew I'd find a place somewhere for it. She described it as beige and white striped but it's actually pearl and champagne. I fell in love when she showed it to me. I have the worlds BEST mommy!!!! Since I'm working with a completely blank canvas in my bedroom... No seriously, I don't even have a bed I knew it would be perfect to use it in there. I'm going for a very glam look! I can't wait to show you the progress of it.

Until next time lovers!

Bringing in the New Year with a little Glam.. 4 Thrifty Outfits

Well dolls… Christmas is over… Crazy right?! This year my husband and I will be hosting a cocktail party for a few of our close friends.  Whether you’re staying in for the evening or stepping out for a night on the town, being FABULOUS is a MUST for New Years Eve and NOTHING screams FABULOUS louder than sequins! The more the better!!! The Thrift stores are great places to find statement pieces that are both AFFORDABLE and UNIQUE… There’s nothing worse than being at a party full of females who have the same FOREVER 21 or HM dress as you.

I was lucky enough to purchase a brand new and very vintage sequined “little black dress number” from a  Thrift Shop I visited in my new neighborhood a few weeks ago for 9.99.

The images below were found on ETSY but items such as these and more can be found in your local thrift shops, consignment stores, Goodwill’s and Salvation Army’s.

When thrifting remember these important tips.

1. Think outside of the box. If the blazer’s too big, add a belt or take it in. If you love the skirt but not the length, make it shorter, if the buttons aren’t you’re style but you love the concept… change them. and so on and so forth…

2. Shop smart.. the main purpose of thrifting is for the bargain, if the price tag is too steep for your liking, either talk them down or leave it there. Only you can determine what you deem to be expensive for a second hand item.
Here are 4 thrifty and very simple outfits that can be put together just in time to count down to the big 2012

Outfit #1
Which is very similar to the outfit I will be rocking for new years.
Pair a Vintage form fitting sequins dress with a sexy blazer (HM has the best blazers!!! Affordable and fit to a T) and some sexy heels and your’re done… If it’s cold in your area as well adding a pair of black sheer tights with sexy designs trailing up the back of your leg can be a great addition as well.

Outfit #2
Treasures such as this sequined blouse are always hiding on the tackiest racks that you wouldn’t look twice in the direction of so. This piece speaks for itself and doesn’t need anything else to help it stand out… pair with a pair of liquid leggings (or plain if you don’t own a pair) an oversized clutch and  spike healed booties.

Outfit # 3
I love rocking blazers and leggings especially liquid leggings.. they accentuate your shape so well (this is when those squats pay off! POW) Pair a sexy sequined blazer or bolero with a plain cami/tank, liquid leggings, statement pumps and a clutch an you’re good to go!

Outfit #4
You can almost always find a black sheer flowy top at your local thrift stores at a great price.  Go a size up for the sexy oversized look. I love to wear black, red or leopard print bras undermine for a little sex appeal. Paired with classic black leggings (which we all should own..) an oversized clutch and killer shoes and this outfit is sure to turn heads..
